Polisi Jepang akan menuntut seorang pria yang mengaku bahwa rem pada Toyota priusnya tidak berfugsi sehingga mengakibatkan kecelakaan, namun setelah diselidiki ternyata penyebab kecelakaan bukanlah masalah rem seperti yang ia laporkan.
Pengemudi berusia 37 tahun itu mengatakan bahwa ia telah menginjak rem saat itu tapi tidak berfungsi. Polisi mengatakan bahwa mobilnya menabrak mobil yang ada didepannya pada saat lampu merah, akibat kecelakaan itu dua orang terluka.
Pihak kepolisian telah mengirim data ke laboratorium khusus untuk dianalisis, dan hasilnya tidak terdapat masalah pada sistem rem Prius tersebut.
